With at least 1.950 species it means that 20% of the entire global population of birds is found within Colombia alone. They’re found throughout the country’s six distinct major natural regions which includes 80 endemic species as well as 197 being migrants. Because of the country’s incredible diversity in habitats, ecosystems and natural regions it’s a melting pot for a ridiculously high number of birds, making Colombia the bird capital of the world.

Some of South America’s most remote and less traveled destinations are found here. From the dense Amazon rainforest in the South to the large, open plains of the Llanos in the East, and the wet coast of the Chocó in the West. Colombia holds many natural treasures that not many people have heard of, yet even fewer have ever seen, and many of South America’s most iconic and legendary creatures call this mega biodiverse country home.
